Me doing what I love, raw and real behind the scenes from a newborn session.

Hello, I’m Sharon!

I am a mum of four and a grandma of five young boys. I was a young mum and so understand the desire to capture quality images of your family, within a set budget. All of my pricing and inclusions are featured on my pages to help with decision making.

Like many people, I hid away from being in photos for years - wanting to lose weight first, feel better about myself etc. Then a couple of years ago, after getting myself super fit and healthy, and at the age of 47, I was diagnosed with Triple Negative breast cancer - an aggressive form of cancer that required aggressive treatment.

I went and had a portrait session when first diagnosed with cancer - my first professional images in 24 years

My world came crashing down. I suddenly deeply regretted not having taken images with my family (my last family photo with my husband and children was when my youngest was 2 years old) - what pictures did I have to leave my children and grandchildren?

It was a huge wake up call for me. I always told clients just to get in the photos but didn’t practice what I preached.

One year after my ‘bald’ portrait session, I went back to the same studio for new images.

Luckily my treatment went well and later this year I celebrate my 50th birthday. All of my family will be gathering together for it and my one wish - to get full family photos - will be realised.

I take every chance offered to be in photos now with family and friends, regardless of how I look at that moment. Life is short… its about making memories.

So my advice to people is this: Get in the photos - don’t worry if you feel you need to lose weight, need to get your hair done, don’t have makeup done, don’t have the right outfit. Your kids don’t care what you look like - they love you and just want you to be there.

Be present and capture moments with your family whilst you can - life is messy and imperfect, crazy and hard and wonderful.

It isn’t about perfection, it’s about being there, being present, capturing moments together so that, one day, they have beautiful visual memories.
